Well… that was ugly.
Stayed up till 1 AM doing that install for work. There were so many clients that didn’t convert because there were workpapers checked out, and I had to go and manually check each one back in. Whole install took nine hours.
And of course it was a huge mess when I came in today. Finally slowed down later this afternoon so that I could breathe.
Drain pipe for the washing machine froze last night, and if I hadn’t been in the bathroom right when the rinse water started to gush out, we might have had quite the flood. Tried to insulate the pipes in the basement, but the clearance to get my hands in there to do anything was very small. Got some foam around the hot and cold taps and stuffed some fiberglass insulation into the rest of the space.
Which was a pretty dumb idea seeing that I was cutting it off of the vapor barrier and stuffing it in… without a mask or gloves. Was coughing for a little while afterwards, but nothing serious. I hope it helps.
Projects for this spring/summer:
• Get chimney repointed.
• Get pellet stove maintained and cleaned.
• Seek a heating system upgrade (price pending)
• Tear down walls in dining room to insulate and drywall it. I betcha I can do that.
