Right now, I’m waiting on a new Linux kernel for one of the Slackware boxes at work. I don’t have a lot of experience with kernel compiling, so I thought I’d take the time and compile a fresh copy of 2.6.4 for this machine. If it doesn’t work, no harm, it might actually be fun to try to bring it back to life. Since I don’t have the install discs here in the office, it’d really be my only option today. (Not that that’s a production machine, it’s just there to run Apache for me.)
Speaking of production Linux machines, let’s see what cdtower has to say:
m13b@cdtower:~$ uptime
10:47:25 up 438 days, 20:17, 1 user, load average: 307.00, 307.00, 307.00
Snowed last night, got a few inches. Enough that I had to shovel out the driveway when I woke up this morning. Not a huge deal, and I know I’ve said it before, but I was just sure that this was past us.
