Recap

OK, I have some catching up to do here.

Friday night’s show was good. Blessed Thistle played really well, and Rooftop was good too, although Rooftop had sound problems and gave up after a half-dozen or so songs. The weirdest thing was, there was almost no one at this place. Supposedly the gig was formed in four days after it was discovered that the band that was playing there was moved up to the Strand or some such larger venue. Oh well, we got the place to ourselves then.

Saturday sucked. 10 hours of driving, and Roy Rogers made me sick. We got there OK tho, and had a good weekend. It was HOT down there. Sunday was in the 90’s. Ended up loading a lot of stuff in the truck, and we drove it back on Monday. We were thinking that we might be able to leave Sunday, but we wouldn’t have gotten home until like 2 AM. Not worth it.

Jaymz drove the pickup both ways, and I drove Dad’s Porsche home. It’s not as exciting as it sounds. I pretty much trailed the truck and made sure we pulled over before anything fell out. Nothing did.

Dad gave us a big gas grill, a radial saw, dozens of hand tools and some patio furniture. It was very generous of him, he was just happy that it was going to be put to good use and that he wouldn’t have to throw any of it out. On the way out, Jaymz also took the other 32″ TV so now there’s actually some more space in the dining room.

So I’m back at work today… tho the place is a ghost town. I said last night that I was going to call in and work from home today, but I chickened out of that so here I am.

Oh, another good thing: The Red Sox took 3 of 4 from the Yankees this weekend. Got to listen to two of those games on the long drives. There was a New York station that took us up the New Jersey Turnpike so I got to hear quite a bit of game two and the entire game four. Nice. Sox are in Toronto today, Toronto is having a real bad go of it lately.

My jaw hurts. I dunno what I did.
