What? 17-9… Orioles?

This kind of thing really bugs me. A night where the Yankees get absolutely pounded, and we can’t hold on to a simple lead over the Jays to take a game up on them and the Indians. While we had pitching problems of our own last night, Mussina… What’s the word? Sucked.

I didn’t mention Cleveland before, because… well, as far as I’m concerned they’re where we got Manny from and that’s about it. But, since they are deadlocked with the Sox and Yanks in the WC race, if they suddenly fall apart, both AL East teams are headed to the post-season. Doesn’t decrease the pennant race any, but it’s a nice runners-up prize.

    And tonight the Jays couldn’t hold a simple lead over the Sox. Don’t they realize what is at stake?

    It’s not like Catalanotto didn’t try. That guy is great. We should pick him up this off-season.

    Catalanotto, between the third inning Tuesday and the fifth inning last night, solidified membership in the Reed Johnson Red Sox Killer Club. Catalanotto, in that span: 9 for 12, 2 HRs, a triple, 3 doubles, and 7 RBIs.
