Oh boy, I dunno what the hell has gotten into me today. I’ve had to fight myself away from buying a new HP laptop, a widescreen HD television and am starting to think that trading in Laura’s car for a new one might not be a bad idea.
So far, I’ve been able to guilt my way out of any impulse buying. What makes it easier is that all of these items are over one thousand dollars in price, which goes a tad beyond impulse and heads into “crazy” territory for me, as I’m normally quite a tightwad. I think it was sparked by my >$10k server purchase at work this morning. I got the taste of expensive blood and needed some time to kick it. Luckily, I think I got through the worst of it unscathed.
Laura did get a flyer in the mail yesterday from the Saturn dealer offering a special sale to previous customers. I took it a little more seriously than most because it doesn’t run on a weekend and ends at 4pm each day. I think we might get over there on Friday afternoon and take a look at the Ion. Couldn’t hurt. Pretty sure she wouldn’t be into getting it anyways as it has that weirdo center console where they stuck the speedometer in no-man’s land. Odd.
There’s also the student loan of L’s that we wanna kill, so all of these things need to be weighed out before we buy anything as large as an automobile.
Enough of this thought process. NEXT!
