The ancient 24-port 3Com hub that I was using to fill the need for extra network taps on the second floor of the office offically gave up the ghost today. In order to replace it, I had to take the 24-port switch that Dell had given me as a promo out of my office, where I used it for all of the machines I run there, and bring it upstairs.
Just ordered a new 8-port switch for my office, which should fit my needs just fine. I can’t believe how much quieter it is in my office now that the switch is gone. Sure, I still have four computers and a CD jukebox running in here, but the difference without the switch’s fans on top of it all is night and day.
The downside of course, is that now I can hear all of the chatter from out in the hall. I guess that’s why Jobs invented iTunes.
Laura and my third anniversary was yesterday, and to celebrate, we both… totally forgot all about it. Oops. It was a situation where we both knew it was coming up real soon now, but we just didn’t get a tight enough fix on the exact date. Weekdays suck anyways, we’ll celebrate over the weekend.
Laura’s photo exhibit opens tonight, so if you’re looking for us, that’s where we’ll be.
P.S. Happy birthday, Michelle!

Thanks.
As far as the opening, we got the word out to plenty of people, so we’re hoping for a good turnout. Of course, the rain, high winds and construction on the maze of streets where the gallery is probably isn’t going to help us out too much.
