I dutifully replied to tell MTV that the first CD they sent me came in, and offered to send back the second when it arrives. To that I get the reply:
We apologize that we cannot honor your request for an Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA #). As stated on our web site, our return policy is only valid within 30 days of the product’s shipping date.
Alright then, I’ll keep the damned thing.
Anyone want a copy of the Black Dahlia Murder’s debut? Apparently, I have a spare. It’s good, as long as you don’t listen to the whole album all at once. I find that it’s better piecemeal, as it’s quite heavy.
This has been a slow week. Been trying to get motivated and re-redo the work website in a combination of CSS and PHP instead of the tables it’s in now, but I can’t get the CSS to work exactly right. Stupid left hand menu. There’s a trick to it in making the background the same color as the menu so it appears to run all the way down the page, but that only works if the menu is always the shorter of the two sides. Oh well, I’ll mess around with it more later.
Kuro5hin is annoying as hell now that new user registration is back on and everyone is flooding the diary section with nonsense. Never thought I’d say this, but I liked it better before. I bought a few months of premium membership just so I could track some of the writers I read, else they’d be lost in the crapflood.
Of course, as soon as I do that, I automatically lose interest in the site. That’ll teach me.
Ooooh, lookie. I just got an IBM catalog at my desk. ThinkPad G Series… Evil temptation is all that is. Got a lot of big bills coming with Laura going back to school for another semester, so the wallets are on lockdown with no end in the immediate future. Time to put those thoughts completely out of mind.
Laura’s father and stepmother arrive next weekend. So what does that mean? It means this weekend is “make the house presentable” weekend. Yeah, I’m really looking forward to that. Sox also play the Yankees again, so at least I’ll have that to break up the horrible monotony.
