Went to the police station this morning, as they mailed me an accident report that had my name on it that wasn’t mine. Apparently, they forgot their own form’s instructions say to use additional forms to add additional cars, and with a three car fender-bender like the one I was in, my name is bound to turn up on an otherwise blank form if the PD doesn’t have their filing system together.
The cop at the desk was asleep when I walked in. Feet kicked back, facing ceiling, mouth wide open. Sure, it was just before 7AM, but if I have to get up that early to go to work, so should he. I tried explaining the situation to him, but since I just wrecked his nap, I don’t think he got it. He took the form and said I should be all set tho.
I expect to have it mailed back to me again within the week.
Speaking of that accident, I still haven’t gone and got my rear bumper fixed. I have the check from the insurance company, I just haven’t gotten around to it. Perhaps this weekend, tho Laura’s father and step-mother are coming to visit, so I don’t want to be without my car for too long.
Because of the visit — and the fact that it was about damned time we did it anyways — we cleaned the house up this weekend. Scrubbed the floors, vaccumed the carpets and all of that nonsense. Makes for a hell of a thrilling weekend, lemme tell ya. Watched a bunch of movies, including some that I just didn’t finish and therefore you won’t see in the review section. I can’t bring myself to try to represent the entire thing if I didn’t see it all. That includes the one I fell asleep to last night.
Made chili this weekend. Wasn’t expecting to, but the weather has cooled a bit, so it was a good opportunity. You don’t want a pot simmering for hours in the kitchen when the thermometer is pushing into the 90’s. Didn’t have my usual chili ingredients (vicious peppers) handy, but it turned out ok, if not far too mild.
Red Sox are doing quite well after their little scuffle in Boston vs. the Evil Empire. Of course, A-Rod is acting like the big man about the whole thing, but he’s not fooling anyone. I’m not a certified lip reader, but you don’t really have to be to know what he said before that all broke out.
As ugly as it was, I’m glad it happened, as it seems to have sparked a fire under this team, and hopefully they’ll ride that momentum during this roadtrip.
Saw this utility today called MP3Gain. Gonna have to give that a try and see how it goes. I hate putting one of my discs on random play in the car only to have my ears blown out at equally random intervals.
Laura’s working late tonight, so that means Ninja Gaiden and baseball for me. Unfortunately, I still have to get through the rest of the day before I get a chance to partake in my favorite less-than-constructive exploits.
