It would appear as though the NY Mets (Apu’s favorite squadron) have signed pitcher Pedro Martinez away from the Sox. Looks like they were able to offer him more money err… respect, so he went where his wallet umm… heart lead him.
At least we have David Wells to fill his shoes eat his in-flight meal.
So that’s over, and best of luck (or whatever) to him.
Next up, Jason Varitek. Will he, lead by devil incarnate Scott Boras, jump ship as well for the fast money? Let’s hope not, but to tell you the truth, the guys who insist on the big bucks — I don’t think I really give a crap what happens to them.
