I went to the Home Despot this weekend to get some wood pellets for the pellet stove in our living room. Unfortunately, for some reason the supply this year is exceptionally low, and I had to be put on a waiting list in order to have any chance of scoring some for this winter.
Last year, we used twenty 50 lb. bags of wood pellets for the winter, which I bought whenever we ran low and loaded into the trunk of my car, six bags at a time. When I put myself on this waiting list, they were only taking orders in tons, one of which would be two years worth of fuel based on last year’s usage. So, I’ll have to rent a truck for an hour or two in order to haul all of it home, but at least it’ll be the last time in a while that I’ll have to bother with it. In the meantime, we only have about a bag and a half left.
So ends my vacation, and I have returned to work this morning with some sort of cold that I assume I must have caught from someone on the plane back from DC. Wonderful.

Welcome back.
I guess.

Heh heh, thanks. Happy Halloween.
By the way, the over/under on number of trick-or-treaters we get at the house tonight remains at one. Based on past experience, only a fool would take the over.
(Hmm… looks like the WordPress timestamps no nothing of Daylight Savings Time. Fixed.)

I know exactly how many T’r'Ters I’ll get: zero. Mine is the only residential building on the block, so it’s not worth their while to come here. Besides, they’re better off down the street a ways where the residents are wealthier and there’s a higher candy to doorbell density ratio.

Well, maybe someone will bring their kid to happy hour next door, and they’ll stray off and come knockin’.
Busy residential street + sidewalk on other side = no kids bothering me.

Correction: The bags are actually 40 lb. each.
