Another slow day behind my desk, so I was toying with the idea of messing around with this page’s design again. Considering that I have three other projects to work on, it doesn’t make a lot of sense, but that’s just how I get sometimes. Don’t know that I’d be starting over from scratch, but there’s always something that can be tweaked here or there.
As I was doing this, I noticed that the HTML for this site isn’t as nicely put-together as the ones I’m currently working on. Not enough includes and too many superfluous divs. While that’s a good sign that I am improving with practice, it does make me a little crazy since I know now that I should have been doing certain things from the start. Oh well, perhaps I’ll do something about it, perhaps not.
Bill installed a new water heater for us this weekend, as we learned that our old one had begun to leak. It was very cool to see all of the plumbing techniques he used, as I’d never really seen any of that stuff before. I don’t claim to be able to do it myself after watching him, but I still learned a lot.
I also acquired a working lawnmower. Yes, that’s right. I can now replace the quieter but far more physicaly taxing reel mower with an obscenely loud, weed-munching, self-propelled machine of spinning death. Haven’t had the chance to use it yet, but I am very much looking forward to that sometime later this week.
Laura is busy with her final class before she graduates. The good thing is, it’s over in only a month, but the bad is that it’s a math course. She hasn’t taken math in forever, so she’s more than a little wary about the whole idea. Results of the first exam come back today…
