Had a pending installation of HDTV this Friday through the folks at DirecTV, but I just called up and cancelled it. I spend too much time on the couch as it is, and the HD programming didn’t include NESN in HD (Red Sox and Bruins) anyways. They offered me an extra $100 off the HD-TiVo price, and even to move the dish on my roof to a better location for free (which has irked me for a while), but I refused and just let the cancellation go through.
I also axed HBO. With Six Feet Under gone, there’s no real reason to keep it, especially if they don’t even bother showing movies in their OAR. Almost kept it for the boxing, but Jim Lampley annoys me too much. I prefer ESPN2’s show with Tessatore and Atlas.
My thirtieth birthday is coming up soon, and I think I might invite some of the guys down to watch a fight that night. Gonna give myself more time to think about it though.
