I believe that I am mildly allergic to carrots. I’d been noticing that after I eat them, I get a weird tickling sensation in the back of my throat. Last night however, I at a bunch of baby carrots as a snack, and then it felt like my throat was closing, and my voice got all messed up. (It’s still a little hoarse now, some fifteen hours later.)
Took some OTC allergy meds, and I felt better. Had a tough time getting to sleep because of it though, as I couldn’t swallow right, which bugged me. It was more annoying than anything else, but raw carrots are off my list.
Never seemed to have the problem with cooked carrots. But I googled a little, and apparently, there is a difference. I’m still going to call it a mild allergy anyways, as I don’t like the sound of “oral itch syndrome” at all.
Saw a bunch of movies this weekend, as we stayed indoors from the snowstorm. Not sure how many of them I’ll actually write reviews for. One I know I won’t be writing is The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, which I slept through most of. Laura liked it, but I wasn’t that impressed.

Hmmm, I might have it checked out. I don’t like the idea of my windpipe closing up.
I watched a couple films this weekend, but I’m really behind on work, so it will be a bit until I can get to them. But, in a nutshell, Harold and Kumar SuXor3d. Pee. Yoo.

I’m not overly concerned. Even if it was deemed an “allergy” and not “whatever the hell syndrome”, the end diagnosis in both cases is simple: Avoid carrots.
I can handle that without medical supervision, especially since cooked carrots don’t bother me. I’m 99.9999% sure that it’s my tree pollen allergy masquerading as an orange, crunchy vegetable, like the linked article says.
Wait a second. Since when has being behind on work prevented you from doing anything?
P.S. Harold and Kumar was hilarious.

Ah. Didn’t know you had a tree pollen allergy. So does my dog. OTOH, maybe you’re just trying to get out of eating your veggies.
My client is back from vacation and wants to “see something.” That means I need to have something to show her. Guess I better get started.
P.P.S. You’re wrong!

I like veggies, but I’m not going to kill myself for them.
I guess I’ll have to buy celery for snacking instead.
I’ve been getting a lot more comment spam lately. Bummer.

Harold and Kumar had its moments but is a far cry from Cheech and Chong.
Allergies suck. Mine acted up a little bit in the 85 degree heat we are having today.
