Got a call from my cousin Jay last night (holy crap, he’s completely changed his site from the last time I was there), and he said that the guy he does design work for was looking for a freelance web designer. I had helped out with a few XHTML/CSS things over the past week or two, so I got myself recommended for it.
Took a look at the design of the next site they’ve proposed, and I couldn’t help myself. I lurve new web projects. Spent a few hours last night putting it together, and I think it turned out pretty OK for a first draft. Couple of backgrounds are a little wonky in IE6/Win, but that’s to be expected.
But the design itself is not what bothers me. What bothers me is that I can get a little bit obsessive-compulsive about not wasting any time, and getting these things done now.
There was exactly zero reason to. I don’t even know if that’s really the final design yet, let alone if I was supposed to do anything at all with it. However, I have an almost fully complete version in valid XHTML Strict sitting in front of me. Since I assume I won’t be flying solo with this, I don’t want to set expectations that that’s how I’ll work all the time… this is supposed to be a part-time freelance gig with flexible deadlines.
Good god John, RELAX!
Oh well, what’s done is done. And if I come out looking as bonkers as I think I am as a result, so be it.
The other thing that’s bothering me is that I haven’t seen any new goddamn movies all week. And with Laura working late for the greater part of the rest of the week, I don’t know that I will anytime soon.

Good luck with all of that. I’m trying to stip out a lot of the design of my projects to make them simpler and to get my print css working properly.
Manny is a terrorist.

If he came out and said he hated America then he would be in Gitmo for opening day. (ARE YOU READING THIS CIA?)

Are the Yankees fans now becoming so desperate that they need to rely on Rumsfeld to ease their ills? Just think what might have happened if their team had put some of that same effort into getting a starting rotation.
Meanwhile, looks like we moved Pedro in time. And you better hope it’s “just tendonitis”.
(Mmmm… anti-Yankee chatter. It’s finally starting to feel like Spring Training.)

We have a starting rotation. If they keep taking their Alzheimer’s medication then we should be okay.
