The Rhode Island International Horror Film Festival is next weekend, so I’m taking a look at the schedule to see exactly what I might be able to get out and see.
I don’t do weeknights, as I really hate going out after work anywhere, so Saturday is my best bet. Laura and I will be in Providence Swansea in the morning for our Child CPR class anyways, so that works out.
Next Saturday’s schedule is as follows:

Midnight
As much as I love Romero and as attractive the prospect of meeting Gary Klar is (it isn’t), the midnight showing of Day just ain’t gonna happen. I’ll fall asleep waiting in line, and the last thing I need is to start sleepwalking around a pack of zombie movie fans. I’d end up going home without a head.
I think the 3:00 grouping looks decent, but I’ve a week to change my mind.
Finally, for some words about the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake-sequel, check out this great commentary from Final Girl. You gotta admit, that second movie poster is a tad… odd.
Aside: I never knew that “Final Girl” was a horror movie term. I must have fallen a bit out of the lingo loop there. Either way, both her blog and her stick figure comics are great, so check them out.

Actually, yeah. Watched some of the last game yesterday (at least when it wasn’t raining).
I figure it’s good to make the clean break now, as opposed to if they somehow barely hung on to make the postseason, destined to fail for yet another year.
Oops, I’m sorry, didn’t mean to spoil the ending for your Yankees. Damnit, now you won’t be as suprised…

The snail’s pace I’m moving through my queue is going to decline to a glacier’s pace the next month. Then I’m thinking of cancelling my cable in November if I can convince my girlfriend of it. I’m expecting more reviews out of you now.

We’re not exactly burning through our rentals either. One thing I am looking forward to however is a six pack of B-class horror DVDs that I got from my friends for my birthday. Might feel good to rip into those a little…

What? No silly apologies necessary. You are right, I did not watch Game Four. Wasn’t because I thought they’d lose, it was because I was so tired from staying up for the other games, and I knew that there would be a Game Five. I struggled through an inning or so and then had to get to bed.
Or maybe I slept through Game Three and watched 4. I dunno, one of those was really long, right? (Memory… failing…)
