The Red Sox were confirmed to have outbid everyone for the rights to negotiate with Japanese “next biggest thing” Matsuzaka last night. Sure, $51,100,000 sounds like a lot, of money, but that’s the Big Leagues, baby. It’s like Monopoly® money to them. I think it even comes in different pastel colors depending on the denomination.
Just opened a new section of the LaTour Creations website just for the kid. Little bugger isn’t even born yet and he’s/she’s already got his/her own website. (Yeah, I’m hating the pronoun thing right now.)
Kids… They grow up so fast!
Meanwhile, I’ve been really busy at work, which is nice. Day passes by a lot quicker, which is great when half of the office is taking vacations and I have to sit here at my desk. Next week ought to be a skeleton crew, I just hope that I’m still as busy then as I am now.
Picked up Tony Hawk’s Project 8 this past week. Haven’t played any Tony Hawk games since the fourth, so it’s a nice return for me. Plus, it distracts me as I impatiently wait for the big one, Rainbow Six:Vegas. Just a couple more weeks!

US $51,100,000 = 6.01447 billion Japanese yen
I saw a commercial for that Tony Hawk game. Looks pretty cool. I haven’t played since Tony Hawk 2. I stopped while on top.
Rainbow Six: Vegas - A Libyan Family Vacation?

Would be a shame to pay that much and not sign him. Does money like that count against the cap?
THPS2 rocked. Easily my favorite, although it was also the first I played, so I’m probably biased.
Unfortunately, it’s really hard to go back to it if you’ve played any of the other more recent games. They’ve added tricks like the revert to extend combos, and you really notice their absence when you go back to play the earlier titles. (Stay pure! Don’t upgrade!)
R6:Vegas is more like my last vacation, as I’ll be able to play it for maybe 3-4 weeks before I have to put it on the shelf.

BTW, ¥6,014,470,000 looks way more impressive.
(Or do I mean “disgusting”?)

I’m pretty sure that money does not count against the “cap”.
I was pretty good at the first one but could never get the million point run on the school. I didn’t have much trouble getting to the million point tricks with Spidey in the second. The manual changed the whole game. I don’t even know what revert to extend means. I only have the first one at home and bring it out about once every six months when.

When you come down from a ramp, if you hit the right trigger just as you land, you do a ground 180 with the board that they call a revert. From there, you can immediately go into a manual and head for another ramp, grind, whatever to extend your combo.
School II was my favorite level, hands down. There’s been a school in a few of the later games, including THP8, but they’re not the same. They’re just not.
