With Guitar Hero II getting closer to release (hurry it up already!), I took a look at Frets on Fire. It’s basically a homebrew version of the same game, where you use your keyboard’s function/enter keys instead of a plastic guitar.
The supposed new OSX version didn’t work at all for me, but I got it running on my PC with no problem. There are only three songs included in the game, but it’s fun to get used to the idea of the gameplay right now instead of having to wait, or buying a PS2. And for the record, I’m not good at it at all… yet.
“The Xbox gamer is the same moviegoer who wants to watch ‘Saw III’ or ‘Crank.’”
Wait a minute, did he just insult me?

Hopefully I’ll get my Xbox 360 back from repair by then…

I’m sure you will. There isn’t even a release date posted anywhere yet.
On one of the Frets on Fire newsgroups, I found links for the entire Guitar Hero II song listing, translated to FoF. Can’t wait to try them out.
“Mother”, “Hanger 18″, “Institutionalized”…

p.s. I took a pic of Henry as my new personal gamerpic. Hee hee hee!
