Tax season has officially begun, and things are very busy at work. Meanwhile…

  • Henry is one month old today. His sleeping schedules are still… He has his moments.
  • T’was twelve degrees out when I woke up early this morn’. Might winter have finally arrived?
  • Been using a refurb iPod Shuffle in the car since the holidays. With all of the new music coming via eMusic, it’s easier to copy it to that than it is to be constantly burning new CDs. Been getting some cool shuffles out of it too. Nick Drake to At The Gates to Concrete Blonde to Minor Threat? Fun!
  • Speaking of eMusic, things I’ve grabbed lately:
    • The Hold Steady - Separation Sunday and Boys and Girls in America (Whom I believe are the first band I’ve started listening to because of a video game soundtrack.)
    • Hawksley Workman - (Last Night We Were) The Delicious Wolves
    • Shudder to Think - Curses, Spells, Voodoo, Mooses (Sounds like old B-sides and the like. Can’t find any added info about it anywhere.)
    • At The Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
    • High on Fire - The Art of Self Defense

I wish they had Mastodon. I get Colony of Birchmen stuck in my head all of the time.

  • I have to get both of our #@! cars inspected this $#@! month…
  • The new season of “24″ started this week, with four hours over two nights. While watching the fourth episode, I noticed a commercial for a DVD of the first four shows of the season. You know, the ones I had just finished watching. The kicker? It was in stores the day after the episodes aired, and it included a sneak peek of what was going to happen next week. Who is actually that impatient?
  • The Wire is worth switching to DVD for now that I’ve seen the first disc’s worth on BET. Still have very little time for full length movies.
  • Exception: Saw Jackass: Number Two recently. If you liked the first one, this is more of that. If you didn’t, you won’t care what the hell I think about it anyways.

Aaah. According to Wikipedia, Curses, Spells, Voodoo, Mooses is actually a pre-Dischord album from 1989.

No wonder I’d never heard of it before.
