Journal

I don’t want to go on the cart.

Been a long time since I posted anything, so I figured I’d get all caught up at once.

Inside: work, more work, miscellaneous fanboy links and a new pic of the boy.

Henry

Coming off of his procedure this week, Henry has made a quick recovery, and is happier than ever. It’s really great for us to finally be able to see him with both of his eyes wide open.

One happy kid.

Work

Apart from the fact that it’s tax season, I recently got some interesting news about the this year’s plans from my boss. This is more or less how the conversation went:

Boss: By the end of this year, we’ll have an office in Boston. Half of the firm will work out of there, the other half will be here.

Me: *gulp* (Thinking about WANs… Server distribution…)

Boss: Oh, and also, we’ll be moving this office to another location nearby a few months after that.

Me: *whimper*

I’m really looking forward to that. Can’t you tell?

Other Job

Been very busy this year building new sites, and rebuilding others. I don’t think I’ve posted this before, but I think this is the nicest looking site we’ve done. However, one of the ones I just finished building a shell for easily trumps it in the complexity department. I’m quite happy with how I pulled it off.

Uses a lot of transparency though, so I’m still concerned about aged browsers. (I’m looking at YOU, IE6.) Once it gets completed and goes live, I’ll post linkage.

Pimpin’

It’s not all about me…

  • Season 3 of Penny Dreadful’s Shilling Shockers has been sent to TV stations, and will soon be on a channel near you, whether on local access or the Interweb. Check it out, the show keeps getting better. As a matter of fact, if I had a cell phone, I’d totally download their ringtones.
  • When I used to go out to shows, two bands I loved seeing were Medea Connection and Gaskill. Now, they’re the same band. Members of both formed The Hidden, and I think they’re great. The curious can download their entire debut EP for free at their record label’s download page.
  • Got to see a little bit of Sobaka director Nicholas Mah’s work recently in the form of a short film on YouTube. Mesmerizing!

  1. Manny Sucks

Let me get this straight…you haven’t been tied down (or untethered depending on how you look at it) with a cell phone yet?

I’ll have to check out some of those MP3s that you linked to. Recommend any songs in particular?

  2. John

Nope. My wife has a cheap little Tracfone that she carries for emergencies when she’s out with Henry, but that’s about it.

“Hang Your Head” or “Before the Wave” perhaps. You could try “Feed” from their first LP as well.

I can’t get over the fact that they’ve been around since 2003 and the first I’ve heard of them was two weeks ago. Is it even possible to get any more out of the loop than that?
