I Sell Out (yet again)

I changed the reviews to show the stars that each movie didn’t get in gray. Didn’t really want to do that, but it looks better than redoing the “ratings definitions” at the bottom of the index page with the stars. Now the only thing separating my site from Will’s is the holiness of the Buddy Christ.

Edit: I also changed the title bar and menu a bit. Idle hands…

Going to this Microsoft whatchamadoo tomorrow up in Boston. “Free software I’ll probably never use? I’m there!”

Speaking of Microsoft, Best Buy has been holding back their Xbox360 shipments to do a sort of second release this Sunday. So if you happen to see a bunch of people camping out outside your local store this weekend, now you know why.

Don’t worry, the majority of them will be going up on eBay, where they’ll fetch a crazy profit. Meanwhile, Japanese shipments collect dust in stores. Hooray, worldwide launch strategy!

Well, there is the fact that my review site is ugly as sin. The title bar is nice but the logo is a bit hard to make out.

I wish that Microsoft tour was coming to L.A. I could use a free copy of sql server. We just ordered a new server last week and the Microsoft licensing was just over a third of the cost.

Well, that’s only because you have four hundred other projects ahead of it in line. ;)

I sorta like that the logo is hard to make out, thanks to the overzealous use of filters I used when I first made it.

I was actually trying to take new pictures of that mask this past weekend, but none of them came out well enough to use. Oh well.

It’s always reminded me of Transformers. I can’t wait for that movie to come out btw.

That could be cool if they keep it old-school.

I’m trying to find the name of my only remaining Transformer action figure. It’s a large white and red jet, but I think it’s an Autobot…

    Edit: Jetfire!

I’ve been reliably informed that the “free” SQL Server is, in fact, an actual non-crippled version of SQL Server. The catch is that it’s restricted to one CAL. I’m not quite sure of what use that is. You can run *either* Enterprise Manager *or* ColdFusion. Hmpf.

OTOH, we should be able to find a descent lunch and then drinks after.

“descent”? Haven’t played that game in years. Since about the last time I used Cold Fusion actually.

Those drinks going to expensed to the company?

You know what they say, the first hit’s free. I’d be happy with just the Visual Studio stuff. Something else to play with.

Why either or? Do MS and Macromedia knowingly cripple each other? I’m confused.

(Edit: Forget that last paragraph, I’m a retard.)

I already told Laura that I’m not expecting to be home very early, so I plan time to wait out the traffic.

Expense? I’m just happy to be out of the office for the day.

    Have fun.
