Laura and I finally made our way through the Sopranos series finale last night. After losing faith in the series after a weak season five, I’m glad that we decided to give it another chance. I’m not going to go into too much detail about anything, but my first impression was that that the ending was cheap.
Then again, each of the last few episodes seemed to be in too much of a hurry to tie up all the loose strings. Whack this guy, whack that guy. Spoiler (highlight to read): Kill Bobby and Silvio but let Paulie and Janice live? There is no justice. Didn’t care for the way they simply discarded Dr. Melfi either, but what can you do?
Now that all of that is finally over, maybe we’ll watch more movies again. Or, we could start on Deadwood.

Deadwood will rock your world. You should watch some movies though. But only if you review them.
I wanted the Russian to come back from the episode that Steve Buscemi directed. (I read in an interview with Paulie that they filmed an ending with him in it but it wasn’t used so maybe we’ll get a few false ending on a box set some time in the future?)

Heh heh. He should come back, kill Paulie, take his shoes and bury his body in a pile of frozen ketchup packets.

Kill him by whacking him upside the head with a TV remote?

Perfect!
While watching the last half of the series, it was interesting to feel my respect for Paulie slowly fade away. From the NY ass kissing to hating his mom for being his aunt to giving Chris such a hard time staying sober.
Before the Pine Barrens, he was much more fun.
